The first time we met was on April 29, 1995. My roommate and I were having our second (and last) annual Toga Party. We rented out the clubhouse in our subdivision to host the party and among the 50-60 guests was Stephanie. She had heard about the party through some mutual friends of ours. That evening we were introduced, but only saw each other a few times a year during the next 3 years or so. Then on February 21 - 22, 1998 we both spent the weekend with a group of friends at the Pettit's Beach House in Galveston for Mardi Gras. It was here that we really began to get to know each other and realized that we had so much in common. We started off talking on the phone a couple times a week, and within a month we were talking daily. Since Stephanie lived in Angleton at the time, and I lived in North Houston (65 miles away) we didn't see other often. About once every other week or so, we would plan to meet for dinner, or happy hour, or karaoke (or whatever other excuse I could think of to see her). By May of 1998 we had become great friends, and Stephanie actually started looking for employment in the Houston area. It wasn't really until about July of '98 that we started doing things together as a couple. Stephanie accepted a position at Post Elementary School in Cy-Fair ISD as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and moved to Houston the last weekend of July. I was in Oregon for my cousins' wedding at the time, but called her while I was gone, and made sure I saw her the day I got back into town. We did something together every day after that for the entire month. Now we are living happily ever after.
